According to the ‘Electronic birth registration’ by the Ministry of Health, 6283 mothers delivered a child, and 6362 children were issued registration numbers in May 2020. Of the total newborns, 3281 are boys and 3081 are girls, and 156 are twins. The average weight of newborns was 3393 grams, and the average height of newborns was 50.6 cm.
In terms of age groups of mothers delivered a child, 4.2 percent of mothers are below 20 years old, 92.1 percent are 20-39 years old and 3.7 percent are over 40 years old.
In the first five months of 2020, the number of births reached 31.6 thousand in the country, showing a decrease of 381 (1.2%) compared to the same period of the previous year.
